Pewsey Vale Bellringers Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day - 8th May 2025

On Thursday 8th May 2025 there were country-wide events planned to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day. As part of a national event, ‘Ring Out For Peace’, the Pewsey Vale Bellringers organised a ringing tour that evening around our 4 towers in the beautiful Vale of Pewsey, with 12 of our ringers plus 2 new recruits and 2 guest ringers participating. 

We rang the bells at Upavon from 5pm, then moved onto ring at Pewsey at 6pm, Wootton Rivers at 7pm and finally Milton Lilbourne at 8pm as part of the village events that same evening. We had many lovely comments from villagers, and our efforts to mark this historic event were appreciated by locals and visitors alike. The day culminated in a poignant beacon-lighting ceremony in Milton Lilbourne.
